Marissa Montgomery
LPC
Hello! My name is Marissa Montgomery, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Colorado. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Transpersonal Art Therapy from Naropa University in 2023, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Southern Adventist University in 2016.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults, including time spent in schools supporting students with emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the resilience of young people and the importance of meeting each client where they are.
In my work, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. My approach is eclectic and trauma-informed, drawing from art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based practices. I believe in the transformative power of creativity as a tool for self-expression, emotional regulation, and healing, and I encourage clients to connect with their creative side as part of their therapeutic journey.
My goal is to support clients in building greater self-understanding, resilience, and confidence, while helping them navigate life’s challenges with compassion and curiosity.
