Lidia Kamionka

MA, BCBA

My name is Lidia Kamionka, and I grew up in Colorado Springs. My family comes from Poland, and that makes up a large part of my identity. I initially started working with adults with special needs shortly after university by assisting them in the community. This eventually expanded into respite services and community connector services. It was during this work that I found myself in the field of ABA and after entering the field I never looked back.

I finished my M.A in Special Education with an emphasis on applied behavior analysis from Arizona State University in December 2020. I then passed my BCBA exam on April 24th, 2021 and have been working as Board Certified Behavior Analyst since. In addition to working as a BCBA I also run Autism West's social media.

I have worked with a wide range of individuals from toddlers to adults. My primary areas of interest include social skills, adaptive living skills, self-advocacy, functional communication training (FCT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I am passionate about helping all our clients, and want to make a difference that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives. I believe that ABA is the best approach to helping make this happen.

In addition to my M.A in special education, I also have an M.A in history from DePaul University. I enjoy learning about different cultures and histories. In my free time I enjoy hiking, traveling, and just spending time with my pets and fiancé.
